Deaths from emergencies plunge by 50% — report

“Even at the national referral hospital like Mulago, accident victims sometimes have to be sent out for brain CT scans. This is unacceptable. Head injuries require immediate attention, and delays can mean death,” Dr Herbert Luswata, the president of the Uganda Medical Association, said.

The report calls for a multi-sectoral approach to address emergency-related deaths.

KAMPALA - Uganda has registered a 50% reduction in deaths resulting from medical emergencies over the last two decades, a new report indicates.
