The yet-to-identified female victim is believed to have been hacked to death on the morning of April 21, 2024, at Vumba Village, Kakabala parish, Butuntumula sub-county in Luwero district.

He identified the suspect as Sosipetero Musana, a casual worker, adding that preliminary investigations also point to some strangulation of the victim.
"Today morning the 21/04/2024 the neighbours heard the child crying in the house (and when) they went to find out, they found out the house was open, and both the deceased and the suspect were lying on the floor," the statement added.

The suspect was unconscious, adding that police found a smell of rat poison on him.
Twiineamazima said a case of murder by hacking had been registered after the scene was visited and documented by the Homicide squad from Luwero CPS.
"The body was taken to Luwero hospital for postmortem examination, " the statement said, adding that the suspect was rushed to Luwero Hospital for treatment and the child was handed to local leaders.

In the same month, two people were arrested for allegedly hacking a five-year-old girl to death in Kagadi district.
The suspects were identified as Brian Byamukama, 19, and Pascal Ajuna, both residents of Kamurandu village, Nyabutanzi sub-county.
It was alleged that the suspects raided the home of Emmanuel Byamukama of Kihuura village and reportedly hacked his daughter Brenda Tusingwire on the head, neck, and face killing her instantly.
