In her opening prayer, Hon. Faith Philo Kunihira, Woman MP for Kyenjojo District, said, “We pray that this fellowship brings healing to our nation, our women, and our children.”

The fellowship has been filled with vibrant praise and worship, heartfelt testimonies, and moments of deep prayer.

H.E. Prof. Joyce Kakuramatsi Kikafunda, Uganda’s Ambassador to India, inspired women leaders and mothers alike with her moving testimony about perseverance and purpose.

Hard work pays off

“I am a hard worker,” she shared. “At university, I was labelled a bookworm, but it paid off. I graduated with a rare first-class upper degree. It took 23 years for my Faculty of Science and Technology to produce another.”

Prof. Kikafunda encouraged women to pursue excellence, adding, “You don’t necessarily need a first-class degree to succeed; even a second-class upper can take you far if you are committed and disciplined.”

She recalled how her dedication caught the attention of the President, who later appointed her to establish the Faculty of Food Science and Technology. “I often left the office between 10 p.m. and midnight,” she recounted. “Some colleagues mocked me, saying I worked so hard because I was childless, while others joked that the faculty must have belonged to my father. But I knew I was building something meaningful for my country.”
