Why Spice Diana no longer begs for collaborations
During a recent television interview, the singer said, “I’m no longer at the stage of asking for collaborations. They just give it to me because that person also gains from it. We all gain, but that person gets more. There is no artist that I can beg for a collabo with,” she said.

Singer Hajarah Namukwaya (Spice Diana) says she has graduated from the school of begging for music collaborations. She insists that she is now at a level where fellow artists are more than willing to work with her without her having to chase them around.
Apparently, the days of sending desperate WhatsApp messages, making repeated phone calls and wondering whether an artist has seen her collaboration request are behind her.
Spice Diana is among Uganda’s leading female musicians who have successfully built their brands beyond the country’s borders, particularly across East Africa. And with her growing profile, she believes she has become a valuable partner rather than an artist looking for favours.
During a recent television interview, the singer said, “I’m no longer at the stage of asking for collaborations. They just give it to me because that person also gains from it. We all gain, but that person gets more. There is no artist that I can beg for a collabo with,” she said.
However, her comments come with an interesting backstory, particularly regarding her much-talked-about attempt to collaborate with Tanzanian superstar Diamond Platnumz.
Spice Diana recently revealed that she allegedly took more than six music producers to the Bongo Flava star in a bid to make the collaboration happen, but nothing came to fruition
Whether Diamond Platnumz missed out on a hit or Spice Diana simply decided the price of the musical marriage was too high, one thing is clear: she says she is no longer knocking on artists' doors looking for a musical favour.
