Vision Group employees, support staff and friends are now fully in the Christmas mood following a blissful Christmas concert at its head office in Kampala on December 17, 2024.

The three-hour-long concert of interdenominational character featured St Cecilia Lubaga Cathedral Choir, Cherubim Chamber Chorale, St Nicholas Orthodox Cathedral Cherubim Choir, The Dove Melodies (from St Stephen’s Anglican Church Mpereerwe), and Zion’s Choir from St Stephen’s Church of Uganda Kireka.

The choirs spiced the show with beautiful Christian hymns that brought out well the message of Christian salvation and the joy of the birth of Jesus Christ, the Saviour of the world. In addition to the common old Christmas hymns, the choirs also sang typical native sacred songs, negro-spirituals and acapella pieces.

The message of the respective hymns would probably not have been all that clear without the interesting messianic narratives that were executed superbly by two young students: Melanie Kasawuli and Irene Namirembe from St Maria Goretti SS Katende.

There were also some interesting messages from the ecumenical clerics.
Chief Guest and Homilist, the Rt Rev. Msgr Dr Lawrence Ssemusu, paid tribute to the managers of Vision Group for promoting Christian unity.

“It is wonderful to see choirs from the Catholic Church, Anglican Church and Orthodox Church singing Christmas carols together. Sometimes we emphasize differences and underline them, yet we are all children of God! Please let’s live in harmony,” Ssemusu said.
