“My husband, Anwar Kifampa, never complains because he pays for the attires I wear to each event I attend. He even drops me at the venue. Until he starts complaining, I am not about to stop. Haters  can continue to cry," she added.

Former Obsessions dancer and now singer/actress Hellen Lukoma has no kind words for those criticising her dressing whenever she is out at different events.

At the Ikon Awards at the Kampala Serena Hotel on March 23, Lukoma caused a stir on the internet, with some saying as a mother, she shouldn’t be wearing skimpy see through clothes.

In an interview with The Kampala Sun at the National Theatre on Sunday, April 7, 2024, a beaming Lukoma defended her fashion choices.

"Those criticising my fashion are losers. The events I attend call for fashion and it means I have to stand out. The dress I wore that day was expensive. I bought it from America. I have nice legs, which I always have to show off because I have no
nyash, so I will never wear a gomesi," she said.

The Olinye Ya Majje singer emphasised that she has always been into fashion.

"Years ago, I organised an annual fashion event called Genesis, which lasted for four years at former Cayenne in Bukoto.  and I once had a lady’s boutique at Mabirizi
Plaza in town, so no one can lecture me about fashion," she said.

Mother of two Lukoma further expressed anger with those judging her marriage and motherhood, basing on her dressing.

"My way of dressing has nothing to do with my marriage or motherhood as long as my
man is happy with me and we love each other and we take care of ourselves. I am a responsible wife and mother. I am better than those who dress in long attires, veils and always pretend to be good, and they end up not going past two years in marriage," she said.

Lukoma boasted that despite her dressing, she is celebrating five years of marriage.

“My husband, Anwar Kifampa, never complains because he pays for the attires I wear to each event I attend. He even drops me at the venue. Until he starts complaining, I am not about to stop. Haters  can continue to cry," she added.
