Valentine’s Day is a day to express love and affection. It is also called St Valentine’s Day.

Initially a day for lovers and couples, today people use this day to share love and express affection towards their relatives and family.

The day is celebrated every February 14th.

On Wednesday, city dwellers were seen buying gifts and flowers for their loved ones.

Alex Ahimbisibwe, a vendor on Luwum Street says the fever is high among lovers who come to shop for their loved ones. He says they sell flowers, small and big gifts ranging between sh1,000 to 100,000. They also give discounts like for example a watch worth sh75,000 comes with other small gifts.  

 Rugera Ashiraf, also a vendor dealing in flowers says they range between sh10,000 and sh30,000 and clients cut across, men, women, young and old.
