Ugandan movie 'Kafa Coh' to premiere in October

A Ugandan movie titled Kafa Coh is set to finally premiere on October 8.
The movie's production started in 2019.
The producer, Doreen Mirembe, told The Kampala Sun that the premiere was affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
"We had started marketing the movie until the COVID-19 pandemic hit us. So we took a break and began again in February," she said.
Mirembe revealed that financial issues were another hindrance to the movie's early premiere.
She, however, expressed contentment that the movie suits both the Ugandan and international audiences.
Kafa Coh is a story of the fight for power.
A young naïve lawyer, Sandra Atika, finds herself in the centre of a battleground.
Co-directed by Gilbert Lukalia and Mirembe,Kafa Coh brings onto the screens a team of Uganda's best actors and actresses such as Mariam Ndagire, Abby Mukiibi, Charles Mulekwa, Peter Odeke, Rehema Nanfuka, Patrick Nkakalukanyi Oyenbot, Michael Wawuyo Snr, Michael Wawuyo jr, and Philip Luswata. .
There are also foreign nationals, Kalu Ikeagwu (from Nigeria) and Vladimir Stephano.

The movie was written by Musa Luswata and Doreen Mirembe.
Mirembe expects to change the attitude of Ugandans towards Ugandan movies using Kafa Coh and appeals to the Government to consider the industry as a goldmine.
"With Kafa Coh, I expect to lure Ugandans into appreciating our African stories and support us the way they watch Hollywood and Bollywood movies," she said.
Mirembe has worked on other movies such as A God Story and Nectar.
She won the Best Actress Award for her role in Catch Out at the Zanzibar International Film Festival.
Additionally, Mirembe is the founder of the Amani Production House.
