Ugandan comedians Salvador and Hillary Okello have teamed up for a major English-language comedy show dubbed Two Kings, One Mic, scheduled for Friday, October 23, 2026, at Serena Kampala Hotel.
Speaking during a press conference held at Fontis in Kampala on Monday, October 19, Salvador said the show was intended to challenge the two comedians to prove their strength and standing in Uganda’s comedy industry.
Salvador also revealed that the show would give them an opportunity to explore the possibility of creating a local alternative to Africa Laughs, a comedy platform that brought together comedians from different countries but, according to him, was expensive to organise.
He argued that Ugandan comedians have the talent and ability to deliver performances capable of making audiences laugh just as much as their international counterparts.
Meanwhile, Hillary Okello described Two Kings, One Mic as a straightforward comedy experience, with the main focus on the two headline performers.
The show is expected to run for three hours, featuring limited guest performances, one DJ and the Janzi Band. Okello will take the stage for an hour, followed by Salvador, who will also deliver a one-hour performance.
Beyond comedy, Salvador also opened up about missing his wife, Daphne, explaining that although they no longer run his shows together as they used to, their emotional connection remains strong.
“I miss her physically because we used to run my shows together, but emotionally, she is always with me,” Salvador said.
Uganda Breweries Limited (UBL) brand manager Roy Tumwizere also urged the comedians to maintain the clean and responsible style of comedy they are known for, assuring them of Uganda Waragi’s continued support.
With the two comedians promising a focused and entertaining performance, Two Kings, One Mic is expected to offer comedy lovers an opportunity to witness Salvador and Hillary Okello share the stage in what could become a significant moment for Uganda’s English-language comedy scene.
