Ugandan singer Spice Diana (Hajara Namukwaya) has opened up about the cause of her long-standing conflict with fellow artist Sheebah Karungi (Samali Karungi), explaining what led to the breakdown of their relationship.
Her remarks come in response to recent comments from Sheebah, who appeared to criticize Spice Diana for allegedly being jealous of others' blessings.
"Spice Diana, you're blessed. God blessed you, so be satisfied with your blessings. Stop being jealous of other people's blessings," Sheebah said.
In an interview, Spice Diana claimed that Sheebah's camp previously targeted and damaged her brand through coordinated social media attacks.
"I was abused and attacked on social media. They even started attacking the brands and companies I work with. Some companies began asking me what the problem was. I felt my brand was being spoiled," Spice Diana said.
She explained that the situation escalated when the attacks extended to companies she endorses, directly affecting her income and family. "What hurt me most is when they started attacking the companies where I earn from to feed my family. That is how the whole situation started."
According to Spice Diana, the two artists eventually met to resolve their differences. She said they publicly supported each other's concerts, leading her to believe the tension had ended. However, the conflict resurfaced after a dancer from Sheebah's camp performed at Spice Diana's concert.
Spice Diana said the dancer personally requested to perform, was referred to management, and was given a chance, but later made negative public comments about the event. When her team filed a police complaint over reputational damage, social media reports claimed Spice Diana had orchestrated the dancer's arrest.
"Sheebah later posted saying I am a bad person for arresting the dancer, yet I had not arrested her. That statement hurt me because she has my number and could have called me to ask what really happened," Spice Diana said.
She confirmed that their differences have never been fully resolved. "After that, I distanced myself. I later unfollowed her because I realized I could not continue dealing with someone who did not trust me."
She added, "I thought I was dealing with random people trying to bring down my brand, only to realize there was more to it. I chose to move on and continue with my life."
