Kampala socialite Christian Asiimwe, better known as Don Chris, has gone from social circles to a rather crowded courtroom, with prosecutors piling 350 counts of allegedly obtaining money by false pretence against him.
The charge sheet has reportedly grown by seven fresh files, each carrying 50 counts — turning what was already a serious legal headache into a full-blown paperwork marathon.
Don Chris is accused of allegedly collecting money from job seekers after promising to secure them employment in Canada and other countries through Sky Pins Tour and Travel Agency.
But as the charges continue to multiply, Don Chris has maintained his innocence, pleading not guilty to all the allegations.
The case is being heard at the City Hall Magistrates’ Court in Kampala, where more than 30 alleged victims have reportedly shown up to follow the proceedings.
With 350 counts now on the table, Don Chris may need more than a good social calendar to keep up with his new courtroom schedule.
