Singer Vivian Tendo, who relocated to the United States after marrying Moses Wasswa Tinsley in July 2023, has denied rumors that her husband forced her to stop pursuing music.
Speaking during a Zoom interview, Vivian responded to claims that she abandoned her career at her husband's request, a move that reportedly disappointed her former manager, Oman Rafik.
Vivian dismissed the allegations, explaining that she continued releasing music after her wedding. She said her decision to step back was driven by personal and professional reasons, not pressure from her husband.
"I want to make it clear that nobody stopped my career," Vivian said. "As an artist, I was just so used to doing the same things, and at some point, it wasn't working for me."
She cited challenges in promoting her music after parting ways with Oman Rafik, which left many responsibilities on her shoulders. She also expressed frustration with industry practices, claiming some people took advantage of her or demanded money for promotion.
Vivian emphasized that while she remains passionate about music, she has other aspirations in life. "I did not stop singing because I believe I am talented, and no one is going to take my voice away from me. But it is wrong to say that my husband stopped my career. He has really supported my dreams."
She concluded that her career break was a personal choice aimed at growth and redirection, not restrictions imposed by her husband.
