Not even the heavy evening rains could dampen the spirit of the many revellers who flocked to Kololo Independence Grounds at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds for the much-anticipated Makoma concert as New Vision celebrates 40 years of service.

By the time the show kicked off before 8pm, the excitement of the largely youthful crowd was evident, proving that the rain was no match for fans eager to witness the return of the legendary gospel group Makoma.

Hosted by energetic MC King Wesley, the night opened with electrifying mixes from the DJ, who skillfully warmed up the crowd with a blend of gospel hits, old-school classics and contemporary sounds that kept the audience dancing despite the wet conditions.

The first performance of the night came from the Proclaim from Miracle Centre Cathedral.

They kicked off with high energy, then put a spiritual perspective on the Number 40, since this is a concert that is launching the year-long celebrations of New Vision’s 40th anniversary. The group mellowed down, making for easy listening.

Groups of friends, families and gospel music lovers could be seen dancing together, their excitement growing with every performance.

With the atmosphere already electric and the crowd in full voice, all eyes are now on the stage as Makoma prepares to deliver what promises to be a powerful performance that will crown a night already filled with energy, unity and unforgettable vibes.
