The Holy Father, Pope Francis, has congratulated the much-loved headteacher of St. Maria Goretti Senior Secondary School Katende (SMAGOK), Teddy Florence Nassiwa Ddamulira, and her husband, Charles Lwanga Ddamulira, on their 25th wedding anniversary.
The Pope’s congratulatory message was delivered by the Apostolic Nuncio Emeritus to Belgium and Luxembourg, His Excellency Archbishop Augustine Kasujja, who presided over the couple’s silver jubilee thanksgiving mass at Uganda Martyrs Minor Basilica, Munyonyo (in Makindye Division).

Archbishop Kasujja praised the silver jubilarians, Teddy Florence and Charles Ddamulira, for their commitment to God and the vocation of marriage to which the Lord called them. He later presented the Apostolic Blessing of Pope Francis to the couple.
During the same function, the Rev. Sr. Asumpta Babirye of the Little Sisters of St. Francis (the elder sister of the silver jubilarian Florence Nassiwa Ddamulira) also celebrated 45 years in religious life. She celebrated with two of her contemporaries, Rev. Sr. Agatha Namugwanya and Rev. Sr. Nampiima.
After the Thanksgiving mass, the Ddamuliras hosted their guests at a reception at Munyonyo Minor Basilica Gardens.
