TWENTY-THIRD SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME

First Reading - Sirach 27:30 - 28:7 If you hold anger, don't expect God to forgive you. Forgive your neighbor now, remember death is near, and your sins will be pardoned.

-Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 103:1-2, 3-4, 9-10, 11-12; R/. The Lord is kind and merciful.
God does not punish us as we deserve. He removes our sins far from us.

Second Reading: Romans 14:7-9 We don't live for ourselves. Whether alive or dead, we belong to the Lord, because Christ died and rose to be our Lord.

-Gospel: Matthew 18:21-35 Peter: forgive 7 times? Jesus: 77 times. A master forgave a huge debt, but his servant refused to forgive a small debt. The master punished him. Forgive from the heart, as God forgave you.
