SIXTEENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
-First Reading - Wisdom 12:13, 16-19; You are merciful to all, because you can do all things Wisdom reminds us: God’s strength is the source of justice. He is patient because He is master of all.
“You gave your children good ground for hope that you would permit repentance for their sins.” God doesn’t punish immediately — He gives time to turn back.
Responsorial Psalm: Psalm 86:5-6, 9-10, 15-16, Response: Lord, you are good and forgiving
Second Reading: Romans 8:26-27; The Spirit intercedes for us with sighs too deep for words. Paul tells us we don’t even know how to pray as we ought.
“The Spirit himself intercedes for us with sighs too deep for words.”
God knows our hearts, and the Spirit prays in us when we’re weak.
Gospel: Matthew 13:24-43; The Parable of the Weeds and the Wheat
