FOURTEENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
-First Reading - Zechariah 9:9-10; “Rejoice heartily, O daughter Zion... See, your king shall come to you; a just savior is he, meek, and riding on an ass... He shall proclaim peace to the nations.” Prophecy of the humble Messiah.
- Responsorial Psalm: Psalm 145:1-2, 8-11, 13-14; Response: I will praise your name for ever, my king and my God
- Second Reading: Romans 8:9, 11-13 Paul: “You are not in the flesh; on the contrary, you are in the spirit... If by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.
- Gospel Acclamation Alleluia: Blessed are you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth; you have revealed to little ones the mysteries of the kingdom
- Gospel: Matthew 11:25-30; Jesus prays: “I give praise to you, Father... because you have hidden these things from the wise and revealed them to little ones.” Then the invitation: “Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you... for my yoke is easy, and my burden light.
