Prior to their departure, the Mombasa Cathedral Holy Ghost Choir participated in a joint Christmas concert with the St. Cecilia choristers at Lubaga Cathedral last Sunday.
The Kenyan choristers added colour to the concert with their groovy, lively performance. They sang mainly Swahili hymns, which were rich with African rhythm and instruments.
They also ably demonstrated their competence in the western classical genre, especially during their performance of James William Kirkpatrick’s
How Excellent is thy Loving Kindness (Psalm 36:7).

The Cecilia choristers of Lubaga also maintained their impressive concert-artistry as they executed their repertoire, which comprised native Ugandan/African composers such as Fr. Dr James Kabuye, Joseph Kyagambiddwa, as well as classical pieces and Negro spirituals from the US and West Africa.
The Chairman of St. Cecilia Lubaga Cathedral Choir, Paul Nsubuga Mukoota, thanked the choir’s friends and stakeholders for their generosity and support, which he said had enabled them to host their Kenyan brethren.
