Swangz Avenue singer and producer Benon Mugumbya has mourned the loss of his friend, Humphrey Mayanja, who succumbed to cancer on Saturday, March 30, 2024.

He revealed that he did not know Humphrey was a brother of singer Jose Chameleone when they first met.

“I was working at an internet café on Luwum Street, which was my first job and Humphrey was dealing in phones, as well as other gadgets. I used to run to him for software and disks,” Mugumbya said during an interview with New Vision.

Mugumbya, who also lost his brother in March, made the remarks on Tuesday, April 2, at St. Joseph Catholic Parish, Lweza on Entebbe Road, where Humphrey's sendoff service took place.

Humphrey will be laid to rest at his ancestral home in Mityana this Wednesday, April 3, 2024.
