Renowned Ugandan socialite and fashion model, Judith Heard, has said her new video collaboration with high-profile Congolese artiste Koffi Olomide is "truly an honour I never imagined".

"Thank you, Lord, for your abundant blessings," said the reigning Miss Environment International Africa on her social media platform on Sunday, a day after the release of the video.

"Let's keep the blessings flowing."

Heard, 37, went bald for her starring appearance in the newly-released video for the song 'Andress' by Olomide, who is considered as one of the greatest Congolese and African musicians of all time.

'Our hearts long for eternity'

While sharing the news with her followers, the admittedly excited Heard, a mother of three and a Born-again Christian, turned to the Bible to dedicate the post "to my angels".

"Ecclesiastes 3:11 reminds us that everything has its own beautiful timing. Our hearts long for eternity, yet we cannot fathom the extent of God's work from beginning to end," she wrote on Facebook.

In the highly-anticipated 'Andress' video, released on Saturday (May 20), the delightfully graceful Heard takes centrestage in a stunning muted but powerful appearance along with 66-year-old Olomide, who once again impresses with his unmistakeable voice.

Olomide's smooth vocal execution does well to drive home the message of love, heartbreak and longing in the song.

'Heartfelt lyrics'

And as described by Bryan Morel Publications, the song's lyrics "delve into the depths of complex emotions, touching on the pain of lost love and the yearning for reconciliation".

"Koffi Olomide's powerful vocals and heartfelt lyrics perfectly capture the essence of the song, resonating with audiences worldwide."

The refreshing hues of the Indian Ocean turquoise waters and the sky's azure beautifully paint the magnificence of the Zanzibari beach on which parts of the video were shot, reportedly one year ago.

A touch of Olomide's meticulous fashion finesse and Heard's free-flowing presence under the experienced direction of Etienne Pro makes for a worthy production on the white sandy beach on East Africa's coast.

In the video, the visual ensemble transitions from the beach to a colourfully set interior filled with dancing talents, tactifully fused with Olomide's solo rooftop appearance in an array of artistic outfits.

By 3:50pm Sunday, only hours after its release, the video has been viewed at least 58,000 times on Olomide's YouTube channel of over one million subscribers.

'Epitome of greatness': Reactions

Meanwhile, Heard has received positive messages of support from her friends and followers for her role in the video.

"Queens dine with Kings honey!!...You are the epitome of greatness. Keep rising," responds one.

Another says: "Proud of you. Keep on soaring."

While one calls Heard "God's child", another says her performance in the video is "stunning".

Meanwhile, Heard, who is also the Goodwill Environment Ambassador for the National Environment Management Authority (NEMA), has won a number of awards.

She was named the Most Stylish Female of the Year at the Abryanz Style and Fashion Awards in 2015.

The following year, she emerged the Hero of the Month at the Reel African Hero awards.

In 2021, she was named Miss Africa at the Miss Elite Awards in Egypt and most recently Miss Environment International Africa 2022 in Mumbai, India.
