Jinja Hippos continued to pile pressure on league leaders Heathen with a hard-fought 58-24 home win over Warriors to increase their chance of qualifying for the playoffs.

Despite registering their biggest win of the season, the Jinja Hippos coach Edmond Quaresma was not happy with his team's work ethic against Warriors RFC on Saturday.

In-form Jinja Hippos ran rampant over the visitors with a 58-24 win in game 9 of this season's Nile Special rugby championship match that was held at Dam Waters playground in Jinja.

"It was a good bonus point but we conceded too many points at home due to complacency. Although we had a big win, we must learn to be ruthless," said Quaresma after his team registered its seventh win of the campaign.

His opposite number Arasmus Aredo was left disappointed by his team's overall display.

"We fell short because of a lack of communication with our general basic movements on the pitch and that affected our game plan," said Aredo.

During the match, Hippos had trys from Silver Kenyi, David Waako, Bruno Kisuule(3), Fahad Maido, Andrew Odhiambo, Owen Magogo, Felix Oyet, and Yassin Wasswa as well as four conversions from Wasswa.
