Ugandan socialite Shanita Namuyimbwa, better known as Bad Black, 36 says she has finally outgrown the flashy lifestyle and endless bar spending that once made her a fixture on Kampala’s entertainment scene.
Back in the day, Bad Black was not exactly the woman to enter a bar quietly. She says she would splash millions of shillings, entertain people and generally make sure everyone knew she had arrived.
But these days? She says she is done proving a point. “Back then, I really wanted to prove myself, but now I have peace. I have moved on from spending millions in bars just to entertain people,” she said.
According to Bad Black, the expensive nights were partly about validation, showing people that she could afford the good life and, perhaps, reminding a few doubters that she was doing just fine.
Now, she says, peace of mind is more important than impressing a crowd. And because this is Bad Black, we are talking about, there was no way the conversation about personal growth would end without a little mischief.
She joked in the TV interview that anyone waiting for an apology from her might want to check their bank balance first. “If there’s a person I wronged out there, I want to tell them that I won’t apologise to them unless they have money,” she joked.
She also revealed how much she enjoys the confidence boost she gets from her man, Asher Panda.
Bad Black recalled being pleasantly surprised when her partner advised her to stop giving attention to people who do not give the same energy back.
“I was so shocked when my man told me, ‘Don’t post anyone who doesn’t post you, because now you’re a big deal.’ I like the way he hypes me,” she said.
The socialite who recently underwent a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) and tummy tuck as part of a full-body cosmetic makeover revealed that the procedure was necessary, as her revamped looks will take care of her finances as she grows older.
