Kainerugaba, a close friend of Gen Kayihura, the former Inspector General of Uganda Police (IGP) was received by his host at the family home amidst applause.
At the colourful event, Gen Kayihura thanked Kainerugaba and his wife for honouring the occasion with their presence.
He also thanked Kainerugaba for what he termed as " a big role" in ensuring that the retired General received justice while battling several court cases. He was eventually cleared and later retired from active service.

The former IGP also told the gathering that he has confidence in Kainerugaba, whom he said has all the credentials for a person seeking to run for the presidency in Uganda.
Kayihura drew applause as he highlighted Kainerugaba’s contributions to national and regional security.
In his address, Kainerugaba mentioned that Kayihura was one of the few senior UPDF officers who welcomed and guided him when he joined the army.
He thanked Kayihura for his steadfast loyalty, noting that even during "tough times", he never wavered in his loyalty to President Yoweri Museveni.
He urged Kayihura to write his memoirs, stating that it would benefit Ugandans with a remarkable story from his family background, especially his father, who fought for Uganda’s independence, and his work in the UPDF and police.
He also mentioned that although his father, John Kalekyezi, died young, he left behind a great son in Kayihura who has accomplished great works.
The event was also attended by senior government leaders from Uganda and Rwanda.
Close sources reported that the couple are set to wed in a Kigali church in Rwanda.
