Radiant skin for your big day is within reach! From personalised skin care routines to the importance of a healthy diet, discover the secrets to achieving that perfect bridal glow at the Bride and Groom Expo on June 27-29 at Uganda Manufacturers Association multi-purpose hall in Kampala.
When is the best time to start taking special care of one’s skin as one prepares to walk down the aisle? Annet Komugisha, the proprietor of Dannya Skin Expert, Kampala, says the bride and groom should give their skin six months to one year for the best results.
Starting skin care in good time means you allow the expert room to do an excellent job. “We check on the skin progress and make changes where necessary, which is not possible when time is limited,” Kyomugisha says.
To guard against the aforementioned risks, Ann Nampiima, a customer care manager at Unity Skin Care, advises the bride-to-be or groom-to-be to seek expert help. This includes consulting skin care specialists and dermatologists. “These will inform you about your skin type and recommend products that are tailor-made for your skin.”
In addition to appropriate products, a good diet is key in one’s skincare routine, according to Dr Medad Ekyarimpa of Ntinda Medical Care.
“Beauty can only be reflected by the type of food you eat,” Ekyarimpa says.
Emphasising the relevance of diet, Kyomugisha says an individual’s skin is a mirror of one’s diet. “A happy gut leads to happy skin. Whatever you eat, will reflect on your skin."
Thus, Ekyarimpa advises that a healthy diet includes vegetables, fruits and drinking eight glasses of water daily. He adds that the bride and groom to stay away from junk foods for a vibrant skin.
