Musician Mesach Ssemakula has appealed to men to consider marrying his “beautiful sister”, media personality Diana Nabatanzi, saying she is long overdue for marriage.
Ssemakula made the remarks during a press conference at Papaz Spot in Makindye, where he unveiled plans for his upcoming 50 Years of Greatness concert at Kingdom Kampala.
Nabatanzi, who was among the event’s emcees, received special praise from the singer for consistently supporting his activities, even when she is not formally invited.
Ssemakula said he hoped to return the favour by actively participating in her future engagements, particularly her wedding. He also used the opportunity to put out a public call to potential suitors.
“Thank you so much, Nabatanzi. I promise to do a lot of work at your wedding. To all the men out there, I have a beautiful sister here who would make a good wife, provided you meet all the requirements,” he said.
The singer also promised fans an entertaining performance at his 50 Years of Greatness concert, scheduled for November 13 at Kingdom Kampala.
For Ssemakula, the concert will double as a celebration of his 50th birthday and a tribute to the fans who have supported his musical journey over the years.
“I am grateful to God for bringing me this far and to everyone who has been part of my journey. My fans have stood with me through the years, and I do not take that support for granted. This concert is my way of celebrating with them and thanking them for the love they have shown me,” he said.
Angella Mpayenda, V&A Sherry's brand manager, said the company was supporting the concert because Ssemakula had been part of Uganda's music story for decades, with songs that have accompanied people through different moments of their lives.
