British Afroswing collective NSG are in Kampala for the Sounds of the Diaspora concert at UMA Showgrounds, Lugogo, on Saturday.

The London-based group, known for blending Afrobeats with rap, dancehall, and hip-hop, touched down ahead of the concert and on Wednesday met fans at Club Guvnor.

But while NSG is the international headline act, the Kampala show will also put some of Uganda's leading urban acts on the same stage.

Fik Fameica, Mun G, Aaronx, and Tojo 256 are among the Ugandan musicians lined up to perform.

For fans of Uganda's urban music scene, the line-up offers an opportunity to see some of the country's familiar voices share a stage with a group whose sound has been heavily influenced by the musical crossover between Africa and the UK.

The concert will also feature DJ sets from DJ Alisha, DJ Vanss, and DJ Linus, with the music expected to move across Afrobeats, Amapiano, hip-hop, dancehall, and other urban sounds.

The night will be hosted by Viana Indi, Hype Cartel, and Pest MC.

The event follows NSG's fan meet-and-greet at Club Guvnor, which gave Kampala fans an early taste of the group's presence ahead of the weekend show.

NSG's arrival also adds another international act to Kampala's increasingly busy live music calendar, while the inclusion of Ugandan performers gives local artists an opportunity to perform before an audience drawn to both African and diaspora sounds.

The Sounds of the Diaspora concert takes place on Saturday, August 22, at UMA Showgrounds, Lugogo.
