If you intend to walk down the 2023 aisle, and you are wondering where to get your wedding attire, catering, decorations, reception services, and cakes, then you will have to clear your calendar for the 14th edition of Bride & Groom Expo.

Vision Group’s 2023 Bride and Groom Expo has been officially launched at the Mestil Hotel today and will take place on June 23–25 at the UMA Showgrounds.

This year’s theme is "Love is in the Details." Like it has been happening in previous Expos, the Expo will provide reliable information on tips, life stories, experiences, and advice for people intending to wed, have introduction ceremonies, and have a family.

While launching the expo, Don Wanyama, the Vision Group’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), was thrilled to announce that this highly anticipated event, which attracts a wide range of exhibitors, has become synonymous with excellence, innovation, and the latest trends in the wedding industry.

“Prepare yourselves for a captivating experience. The Bride and Groom Expo offers a wide array of activities meticulously designed to cater to the needs and interests of the modern bride and groom-to-be,” Wanyama said.

Wanyama assured attendees that they should eagerly anticipate breath-taking performances by top wedding event artists, be enthralled by lingerie shows presented by top models, and attend informative workshops on practical knowledge and skills.

“These activities are thoughtfully curated to equip you with practical knowledge and skills, ensuring that your wedding planning process is smooth and enjoyable, resulting in an unforgettable experience,” Wanyama said.

Rogers Anguzu, the head of marketing at Vision Group, assured sponsors that by working with Vision Group, they will get value for money and the guests will have an exciting experience.

“We have counseling sessions about courtship, how to decide who is the right one, infertility in marriage, and childbearing. So far, we have over 130 exhibitors ready to showcase their businesses that will make your dreams come true for couples,” Anguzu said.

Anguzu said that while the wedding day is something one should look forward to, it is also important for couples to think about the future. This is why the expo will have stories talking about what happens next, after the wedding day.

At the launch, Doreen Kabatesi, the marketing and sales manager at Twende Uganda, said that they are participating in the expo again because they had an amazing experience last year.

“We got a good response, especially visibility. Last year we took 6 people to Mombasa, but before we set off, some people thought we were lying, but after experiencing it, they even want to come back at the expo this year,” Kabatesi said.

Kabatesi called upon couples to attend the expo to be able to win themselves a trip to Southern Beach in Mombasa.

“It is a well-spread beach next to the ocean with a good view. Just come and attend the expo, and you never know, you might win,” Kabatesi said.

In his speech, Deo Nyanzi, the head of sales and marketing at Uganda Airlines, said that winners will experience the adventure of their lifetime.

“We are happy to be back at the expo. We are telling couples that if we move away from doing a wedding and they go back home if they are doing a wedding, they should see an airline around to take them for their honeymoon. Stop proposing on the ground; you can do it on board, and if you are already married, you can carry out your anniversary in a different destination by using the airline,” Nyanzi said.

Addressing guests, Jemimah Miriam Akatekit, the Corporate Communications Manager at Crown Beverages, said that this year it is going to be bigger at the expo because they are unveiling their international water known as Aquafina Water.

“People who have weddings have no idea that when you buy bulk at our stall, we give you additional things like tents. If you have a function, visit our stall at the expo for discounts,” Akatekit said.

Rebecca Nakayiza, a supervisor at Penny Bold Bridal Collections, said that guests should expect surprises at the expo.

Speaking to New Vision, Richard Businge, the managing director at Fragolino Wines, said that it was their first time to be part of the expo last year, and it was an amazing experience that they would want to be part of again.

“Last year people came to understand our wine through wine tasting. If you have a wedding, it will be nice to serve your guests Fragolino wine. It is the best wine on the market,” Businge said.

According to Elizabeth Mugisha, spokesperson for Mestil Hotels, the winners during the expo will spend two nights at Mestil Hotel and Residences.

The three-day event, organized by the Vision Group, is sponsored by Pepsi, Penny Bold Bridal Collections, Mestil Hotel and Residences, Fragolino Wines, and Twende Uganda in partnership with southern Palm Beach in Diani.
