"I woke up this morning and had to search for a matching shirt, tie, and gentle shoes, which is not my usual routine. I'm accustomed to sneakers, so this new dress code is somewhat inconvenient for me," Balaam said.

Events promoter and manager Balaam Barugahara, commonly known as Mr. T-shirt due to his penchant for orange T-shirts, has recently garnered attention for a significant career shift.

Days ago, he was appointed as the State Minister of Labour, Gender, and Social Development, overseeing children and youth affairs.

This news has sparked curiosity about potential changes to his attire.

On March 26, 2024, he addressed the media, clad in a well crafted suit, a departure from his usual casual attire. However, he indicated that despite this new choice of clothing, it was primarily for formal occasions, such as official meetings and appearances in the August House.

Balaam emphasised that his T-shirt remains his signature identity and source of comfort.

"I woke up this morning and had to search for a matching shirt, tie, and gentle shoes, which is not my usual routine. I'm accustomed to sneakers, so this new dress code is somewhat inconvenient for me. I'll adhere to it out of respect for official duties, but outside of those contexts, I'll stick to my beloved T-shirt," he remarked.

In addition to discussing his attire, he outlined his initial plans, which include the removal of children from the streets and providing them with constructive activities.

He also expressed intentions to advocate for the release of detained youth affiliated with the National Unity Platform, aiming to equip them with skills that can positively impact their lives.
