The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) Executive Director, Dan Odongo, has revealed that his institution will this year conduct four sets of examinations.

"This year UNEB will conduct four sets of examinations which will include the Primary Leaving Examination (PLE), the Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) for both the Old and New Curricula and the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE)," Odongo revealed.

He made the revelation today ( May 24) while addressing the media at the Uganda Media Centre.

Odongo noted that it will be the first time UNEB is conducting the UCE examination based on the New Lower Secondary Curriculum (NLSC), and arrangements for this examination are on course.

He said, alongside the UCE Examination based on the New Curriculum, UNEB will also conduct another set of UCE-Transitional Examinations (UCE-TE) based on the old curriculum, adding that this will be a one-off opportunity given to anyone who would like to be assessed under the old curriculum.

He revealed that registration for all Four Examinations (4Es) is currently ongoing.

Odongo noted that normal registration of candidates will close on May 31, adding that for candidates that will miss registering this time, a late registration period has been set, but it will attract a surcharge.
