Uganda Law Students Association welcomes new leadership

The Uganda Law Students Association (ULSA) has held its fifth handover ceremony where the outgoing president and his cabinet handed over office to the new leaders.
The event which happened at Citadel Advocates offices in Kampala was officiated by Counsel Usaama Sebuufu a senior partner at K&K advocates. He commended the outgoing president Gideon Mwanje for being humble and hardworking which has enabled him to achieve alot for ULSA in a short tenure of one year.
Forexample, Mwanje managed to acquire 50 scholarships for law students in different universities. He also published a journal and magazine for law students. What’s more; Mwanje also mobilized and pulled off an association for law students in East Africa called Law Students Association of East Africa (LSAEA).

Meanwhile, Mwanje was succeeded by Angella Namuleme, the current president of the law society at the Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) Kabojja female campus. She also became the first female president of ULSA. Namuleme will be deputized by Annie Adikin, the president of Makerere University law society. The speaker is Jovan Joel Kuganja the president of Nkumba University law society while the general secretary is Jonathan Raisemayers president of Uganda Christian University (UCU) law society.
Additionally, finance secretary is Nicklet Asiimwe and she is president of King Ceasor law society while the publicity secretary is Christopher Tinka president IUIU Kampala law society.
Elsewhere, Namuleme promised to start from where Mwanje stopped to make ULSA great. She also pledged to work tirelessly to achieve the association’s goals and show the world what females can do when it comes to leadership.
Mwanje announced that the swearing in will be held on October 28, 2024 at the Uganda Law Society (ULS) offices and it will be officiated by the new ULS president, Counsel Isaac Ssemakadde.
Mwanje, a student of Nkumba University thanked his lecturer Dr. Susan Nakanwagi and counsels; Benard Oundo, Adam Kirumira and Witness Nabalende plus Nkumba University administration for mentoring him well.
