“I once again congratulate you. You have walked the journey; you deserve to be celebrated. This is a great milestone in your life that you need to jealously guard, but it should not be the end of your hard work,” Prof. Muhammed Ngoma, the university’s new vice chancellor, told the graduates.
“Go out there and continue to explore the heights. Build the soft and employability skills on top of what we have given you at Kampala International University.”
Al-Haji Hassan Basajjabalaba, the university’s chairman of board of trustees, also congratulated the graduates on their success in various specializations.
“I request you to be good ambassadors of KIU wherever you will be,” Basajjabalaba, who is also a successful businessman, implored the graduates at the function that was also attended by Muhammed Hassan Wazir, the High Commissioner of Pakistan in Uganda.
KIU has been targeting to strengthen its science and technology base as part of its contribution to the science, technology and innovation national agenda.
In 2022, it added new programs such as a PhD in Medicine, Economics, Applied Statistics, Information Technology, Computer Science, Physics, and Mathematics, among others. This brought the number of PhD programs to 29.
