Over 1600 to graduate from Nkumba University

More than 1600 students are set to graduate with bachelor's and master’s degrees, postgraduate diplomas, certificates and PhDs from Nkumba University.

Dr Frank Pio Kiyingi, the academic registrar says, the event will happen on October 26, 2024, at the University’s main campus in Nkumba, Wakiso district. 

Of the 1672 graduands, 12 will receive Doctor of Philosophy (PhDs) while the rest will walk home with bachelor's and master’s degrees, postgraduate diplomas and certificates.

The courses include; public health, nursing, petroleum, security studies and International relations. Others are; Journalism and public relations, Law, business administration, Information Science and Technology and computer science.

Key schools from which they are graduating include; the School of Social Sciences, Business Administration, Industrial Art and Design, Law, computing and Informatics, education and School of Sciences.  

The students have been on day, weekend and long-distance programs.

Meanwhile, most of the graduands are self-sponsored but there are also those supported by the University according to Prof. Jude T. Lubega, the Vice Chancellor. This is through the 30% academic scholarship on undergraduate programs under arrangements like games and sports.
