First Lady and Minister of Education and Sports Janet Museveni will on Friday, October 17, release the results of the May/June 2025 End-of-Programme Assessments for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) candidates.

The exercise is set to take place at the UVTAB National Skills Assessment Centre on Kyambogo Hill.

The announcement comes as more than 30,000 candidates await the outcome of their hard work.

A total of 30,619 students from 499 assessment centres across Uganda sat for the examinations, which ran from May 2 to June 27, 2025.

Of these centres, 306 were formal institutions, while 193 were informal TVET providers, highlighting the growing recognition of skills acquired both inside and outside the classroom.

Female candidates accounted for 17,423 of the totals, with 13,196 male candidates also participating.

The assessments spanned a broad spectrum of programmes, including Technology Education and Training, Business Education and Training, Home Science Education and Training, Sports Education and Training, and informally acquired skills.

These examinations are designed not only to test knowledge but also to measure practical competencies, ensuring that graduates are ready to enter Uganda’s workforce with employable skills.

In a statement on Thursday, October 16, UVTAB executive secretary, Onesmus Oyesigye, emphasised the board’s commitment to maintaining high standards in both formal and informal TVET assessments.

“Assessment for Employable Skills,” he noted, remains the guiding principle of Uganda’s vocational education system, reflecting the government’s focus on equipping young people with the practical abilities required for industry and entrepreneurship.

As results day approaches, thousands of students, families, and educators will be watching closely, eager to see the achievements of Uganda’s next generation of skilled workers.
