349,445 candidates were registered to sit the 2022 examinations from 3703 Examination Centers, of which 175,923 (50.3%) of the candidates are males, while 173,522 are females representing 49.7%.

KAMPALA - The 2022 Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) Examinations kicked off Monday (October 17, 2022, in several schools across the country with Mathematics Paper I done in the morning.
Meanwhile, Paper II has been done in the afternoon according to the timetable of Uganda National Examination Board (UNEB).

At Lubiri High school, the examination process started at exactly 8:30 am with the checking of students and at 9:00am students started writing their exams amidst strict rules.

According to UNEB, 349,445 candidates were registered to sit the 2022 examinations from 3703 Examination Centers, of which 175,923 (50.3%) of the candidates are males, while 173,522 are females representing 49.7%.

A total of 114,200 (32.7%) of the candidates are from Universal Secondary Education (USE) Programme, while 235,245 (77.3%) candidates are from private schools. 51 candidates are inmates in Luzira Upper Prison and 519 candidates with Special Needs Education (SNE).
