11 science students from Lamwo to benefit from State House scholarships
According to State House guidelines, the students to benefit from the scholarships are those who applied for Medicine, Engineering, Agriculture and Information Technology.

LAMWO — A total of 11 students from Lamwo District who were admitted to university are set to benefit from State House scholarships in the 2026/2027 academic year.
This follows a promise made by President Yoweri Museveni during his campaigns ahead of the January 15, 2026, general elections.
The scholarships will mainly target students who were admitted to study science courses.
According to State House guidelines, the students to benefit from the scholarships are those who applied for Medicine, Engineering, Agriculture and Information Technology.
The 11 beneficiaries drawn from across Lamwo district are; Barbra Peace Alanyo, Dolly Aol, Lawrence Akena, Benjamin Lakwonyero, Joan Flavia Agenorwot, and Emmy Brian Kimara.
Others are; Jonathan Rubangakene, Christopher Rubangakene, Jacob Komakech, Deo Okot and Calvin Roy Komagum.

Lamwo Resident District Commissioner William Komakech said the scholarships are a new programme by President Museveni for students who have been admitted to pursue science courses at university, but hail from poor backgrounds.
Komakech said the scholarships will improve the number of students pursuing professional courses in the district, adding that they will be offered every year.
Sisto Oyet Oceng, the Lamwo district chairperson, welcomed the initiative by the President to sponsor science students from the district. "This will increase the number of children from Lamwo who have been admitted to various universities."
He said before the presidential scholarships, six students had been admitted to public universities through the district quota.
