West Nile leaders seek lasting legacy for Gen. Moses Ali

Leaders in West Nile have called on the government to preserve the legacy of the late Gen. Moses Ali by fast-tracking key development projects he championed for the region.
Tributes have continued to pour in following the death of the veteran statesman and former First Deputy Prime Minister on July 18, 2026, with regional leaders describing him as one of West Nile's greatest sons.
Speaking to Arua One FM, the clerk to the council of the Lugbara Cultural Institution, Alekua Jafar, praised the late general for his discipline and distinguished public service.

Meanwhile, former Arua Central Member of Parliament Jackson Lee Atima Buti urged President Yoweri Museveni to honour Gen. Moses Ali through lasting development projects rather than symbolic gestures.
Buti proposed fast-tracking the upgrading of Arua Airfield into an international airport and naming it after the late statesman.
He also appealed for the completion of Laropi Bridge, the rehabilitation of the historic Ombaci Satellite Station, and increased investment in Adjumani district.
