When Oyo turned 18 years of age on April 17, 2010, his team of regents and board of advisors stepped down as he became a legal adult and sole decision-maker. As a result, Oyo took full personal charge of the kingdom.

FORT PORTAL - Toro King (Omukama) Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV passed away aged 34 on August 27, 2026.
The announcement was made by Toro Premier Calvin Armstrong Rwomiire Akiiki, who said the monarch died at approximately 10:00pm.
King Oyo, who was born on April 16, 1992, to King Patrick Matthew Kaboyo Olimi III and Queen Best Kemigisa, ascended to the throne at the age of three.
At the time, he was the youngest monarch in the world, earning him a spot in the Guinness Book of Records.

Celebrations were held at the royal palace in Fort Portal city in commemoration of Oyo's birthday, and various high-profile guests, including President Yoweri Museveni, attended the event.
