Funeral held for late MP Stella Apolot Isodo in Ngora

Vice-President Jessica Alupo on Saturday (January 24) attended the funeral of the late Ngora district Woman MP Stella Apolot Isodo in Uganda's eastern district of Ngora.

Thousands of mourners were present for the solemn function in Osigira village in Ngora town council.

Bishop Dr Simon Peter Emiau, the Presiding Bishop and General Superintendent of the Pentecostal Assemblies of God (PAG) Uganda, led the funeral service.

Other high profile people at the funeral included Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party president Patrick Oboi Amuriat and general secretary Nathan Nandala Mafabi, who was a candidate in the 2026 presidential election.

Apolot, a member of FDC, died last Saturday at Kampala Hospital only days after losing her re-election bid to National Resistance Movement (NRM) flagbearer Josephine Pedun.

She was 51.

Parliament held a special sitting mid-this week to honour the late legislator.
