Ex-NRC delegate, Member of Parliament Apuun dies

Patrick Longole Apuun passed on in the early hours of Sunday, January 25, 2026, as a result of a prolonged illness. Joshua Risa confirmed the death of his elder brother.

A former National Resistance Council/Constituent Assembly delegate for Bokora County in the greater Moroto district administration is dead.

Patrick Longole Apuun passed on in the early hours of Sunday, January 25, 2026, as a result of a prolonged illness. Joshua Risa confirmed the death of his elder brother.

He told New Vision Onlinethat the deceased passed on as he was being rushed to Matany Hospital in Napak district.

Apuun’s career in politics began in 1994 to 1995, when he was elected to join the constituent assembly – CA as a delegate for Bokora County in the greater Moroto district. At that time, the delegates were mandated to collect the views of the people in preparation of the promulgation of the Constitution

When the National Resistance Council was introduced between 1989 and 1996, Apuun represented the same county. This time round, he participated as a member of the standing committee on legal and security affairs.
