URA fined sh1.6b for selling sh1.4b equipment for sh4m

Court has ordered URA to compensate Babaana Children of Uganda Ltd, a charity organisation, after the disposal of its tax-exempt medical equipment allegedly caused the organisation a financial loss of sh1.7b.

Justice Namanya further noted that equipment valued at sh1.4b was sold for sh4m, with URA failing to provide a satisfactory explanation or a valuation report to justify the sale price.
