Uganda Buildcon International Expo 2024: Basil David Anthony Showcases Modern Floors

The UMA Show Grounds is buzzing with energy as industry professionals, businesses, and stakeholders gather for the Uganda Buildcon International Expo 2024 that started today and ends on August 10.

This year’s theme, “Building the Future Together,” underscores a commitment to sustainable development and collaboration within the construction industry.

Among the notable participants is Basil David Anthony, an internationally recognised award-winning business personality and entrepreneur.

With nearly two decades of experience across various sectors ranging from flooring, information technology, marketing, and events to travel, tours, and event ticketing, Basil has earned a reputation as an achiever and innovator. His business acumen has been acknowledged through numerous awards under different investments.

At this year’s expo, Basil introduces his latest venture, Modern Floors, a UK trademarked flooring brand. Modern Floors wholesales and retails high-quality, affordable artificial carpet grass, AstroTurf, vinyl tiles (PVC/SPC), carpet tiles, adhesives, waterproofing materials, and other indoor and outdoor flooring products. 

These products, designed for both residential and commercial spaces, are not only cost-effective but also sustainable. They are made from recycled plastic, promoting reusability and long-term sustainability.

Modern Floors also provides world-class expert training and installation for all its products, reflecting Basil’s commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. “We are here looking for potential engineers and partners, especially in the real estate and construction sector,” Basil stated during the expo's opening ceremony.

Basil’s vision extends beyond business. He is passionate about empowering and inspiring the youth to become entrepreneurs, particularly after school. 

Through his foundation and investments in the private sector, he aims to create more job creators than job seekers. “We need to create more job creators than seekers in the economy, and this is done through such inspiring initiatives and investing in the private sector rather than waiting for the government,” he emphasized.

His participation in the Uganda Buildcon International Expo 2024 is a dedication to innovation and growth within the flooring industry and his broader mission to impact communities across Africa positively. By introducing cheaper, genuine products to Ugandans, markets, Basil hopes to drive economic development and sustainability.
