KAMPALA - The New Vision Staff Cooperative Credit and Saving Scheme Limited (SACCO) has marked 20 years of service, celebrating growth worth sh10 billion, with more than 150 guests receiving gifts.
According to James Ssekamatte, the secretary of the SACCO, the organisation’s two decades of growth and the accumulation of sh10 billion on account reflect strong stewardship and the confidence shown by its members.
Ssekamatte revealed this during the Park Yard party held at the New Vision headquarters on December 5 2025.
He said that the celebration marked not only 20 years of existence but also the SACCO’s rise from earlier milestones, such as sh40 million, to its current sh10 billion through sustained savings.
He noted that this growth demonstrates members’ trust in the SACCO.
As a sign of appreciation to those who have supported the SACCO’s progress, he said they would offer a token of appreciation to all members.
He added that many attendees walked away with a variety of gifts, which were open to everyone present, including non-members, as long as they attended the party.
“With this growth, he advised those who have not yet done so because members have been supposed to put up projects they would not manage if they were to depend on their salaries. Many people have been able to borrow money to buy land and have managed to put up homes,” he said.
