MTN Uganda dominated trading at the Uganda Securities Exchange (USE) on Thursday, with the telecom giant’s counter climbing to sh435 from an opening price of sh429.99 ahead of its quarter two financial results.

The counter recorded the busiest session on the bourse, with over 10 million shares changing hands at sh435 each.

Quality Chemicals Industries Limited (QCIL) also posted gains, adding sh0.95 to close at sh160.95, a 0.59% rise, on volume of 6,300 shares according to market data from Crested Capital.

Dfcu, National Insurance Corporation (NIC), New Vision Printing and Publishing Company (NVL) and Uganda Clays Limited (UCL) all recorded no deals during the session, though bid activity showed continued investor interest across the board.

Stanbic Holdings closed at sh82 on turnover of 27,500 shares, while Umeme closed at sh63 with 1,300 shares traded.
