MTN Uganda has recognized Kate Kiiza, the Executive Director of dfcu Bank, for her outstanding efforts in advocating for women’s empowerment and economic inclusion.
During a visit to dfcu Bank, MTN Uganda’s Business Segment Manager, Justina Icabala, commended Kiiza as a remarkable and influential leader whose work has created opportunities for the advancement of women-related causes across the country.
dfcu Bank has been at the forefront of championing women’s economic participation through tailored financial solutions, mentorship programs, and strategic partnerships.
The bank’s flagship Women in Business (WiB) program provides female entrepreneurs with access to affordable credit, business advisory services, and financial literacy training to help them scale their enterprises.
Recently, the bank was one of the financial institutions selected to implement the GROW Project, a nationwide initiative meant to accelerate the growth and skills of female business owners.
Speaking on the recognition, Kiiza expressed gratitude to the MTN team for the recognition and emphasized dfcu Bank’s appreciation of their partnership.
She reiterated the bank’s commitment to continued collaboration, highlighting that empowering woman is both a lived and core value of dfcu which boasts of a female staff employment of more than 50%.
