Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) Plc has recommended a first and final dividend of KES 0.32 per share for the financial year ended June 30, 2026.
If approved by shareholders, the dividend will be paid to those appearing on the register of members at the close of business on November 30, 2026.
Uganda, through the Uganda National Oil Company (UNOC), holds a strategic 20.15% stake in KPC acquired during the privatisation process. According to UNOC, Uganda will not benefit from the proceeds of this dividend.
“This report that has just been released is for the financial year before Uganda became a shareholder and member of the KPC board. Therefore, it may not affect UNOC’s stake,” Tony Otoa, UNOC’s Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, said.
“However, these financials show why UNOC invested. As shareholders and members of the KPC board, UNOC is ready to support and drive this kind of performance."
In its statement, KPC declared KES 0.32 per share. The total dividends to be distributed are about KES 5.9b for the year ended June 30, 2026. Through the Uganda National Oil Company (UNOC), Uganda holds a 20.15% stake acquired during KPC’s partial privatisation and listing on the Nairobi Securities Exchange earlier this year.
Pius Mwendwa, acting managing director, said that the company grew revenue and profit while improving operating efficiencies despite volatile global petroleum prices and supply disruptions linked to the Middle East crisis.
Profit after tax rose 13% to KSh11.58b from KSh10.24b the previous year. Profit before tax grew 8% to KSh17.54b, while total revenue increased 9% to KSh42.98b, driven by 7% growth in local and transit petroleum volumes.
Uganda’s 20.15% stake was acquired for an estimated KSh33.8b (about sh946b).
