How Uganda earned sh48 trillion from exports last year

Last year, gold remained the largest foreign exchange earner, bringing in $6.40b (sh22.79 trillion), followed by coffee at $2.46b (sh8.77 trillion). Cocoa beans also registered strong performance, contributing $632.02m (sh2.25 trillion) to total export receipts, while tea earned $54.36m (sh193.54b).

The sharp increase was largely driven by strong performance in gold and coffee, which remained the country’s top foreign exchange earners throughout the year.
