Uganda Rugby Sevens sealed the historic moment for rugby at the Africa Games with two huge wins to start dreaming of gold in the games on Tuesday.

The sport made its first appearance in the games since its inception.

With the hot weather buffered by the early morning rains, Uganda picked a 14-00 win against perennial foes Zimbabwe.

Adrian Kasito and Philip Wokorach settled the rivalry with a try each.

Wokorach and Timothy Kisiga added on the extras.

 

Tolbert Onyango's charges closed the day with a big win of 50-0 against Tunisia.

Adrian Kasito and Norbert Okeny with a brace each.

Kisiga, Aaron Ofoyrwoth, Philip Wokorach and Desire Ayera each scored a try.

Wokorach and Kisiga added the extras.

With Kenya losing two games in Burkina Faso and Zimbabwe, it is now Uganda's gold to lose in Accra.

"It is not yet time to dream, because we have more crucial games to play," Onyango stated.

The Women's National Sevens team, Lady Rugby Cranes Sevens also started the gold search today with Burkina Faso and Tunisia in line.
