Govt engages Total Energies over sh35b subcontractor arrears

Energy ministry permanent secretary Eng. Irene Batebe told New Vision that the Government is aware of the outstanding payments and has engaged both TotalEnergies Uganda and the Petroleum Authority of Uganda (PAU) on the matter.

To address the outstanding $9.7m claimed by about 60 subcontractors, PAU directed TotalEnergies Uganda to undertake a forensic audit of the claims. The audit is being conducted by Deloitte Kenya.
