KAMPALA - Dfcu Bank has appointed Charles Mudiwa as managing director and chief executive officer effective April 11, 2023.
Mudiwa will replace Mathias Katamba who resigned from the position in January after nearly four years. Dfcu Bank is the anchor subsidiary of dfcu Limited which is listed on the Uganda Securities Exchange.
According to dfcu, Mudiwa will bring on board over 26 years of experience in the banking sector, with strong business leadership, success in turning around businesses and increasing business profitability.
He has served as CEO Stanbic Bank Kenya Limited, Stanbic Bank Zambia Limited and Standard Bank Malawi, amongst other roles.
He has also served on several Boards including Stanbic Bank Zambia and Kenya, Standard Bank Malawi Ltd; Standard Bank Insurance Brokers of South Africa, Edu-loan Limited South Africa, and Agribank Zimbabwe.
“The Board of Directors of dfcu Limited and dfcu Bank Limited would like to extend their sincere appreciation to Mr. William Sekabembe for effectively leading the Bank as acting chief executive officer and managing director, from February 2023 through to April 10, 2023.
