Controversy as new power deal is halted, bigwings fight to bring new distributor

In a letter dated December 3, 2025, Nabbanja directed the energy minister, Ruth Nankabirwa, to stop plans to reintroduce private partnerships/joint ventures in the management of Uganda’s power distribution without authorisation from the Cabinet and President Yoweri Museveni.
